Community Equity Collaborative was a leader in advocating for and distributing almost $5.5M of San Mateo County’s CARES Act funds plus community donations to child care programs adversely impacted by COVID-19. Grants covered the equivalent of one month of operating expenses and were distributed broadly throughout the county to programs that provide child care services to the most vulnerable children.
"[This grant] helped me to get back slowly to full operation. Parents who need to get back to work kept their jobs and those who work from home were able to work with very little or no disruption. I was able to keep my assistant who also needs the job. Funds helped with the additional expenses for cleaning/disinfecting supplies and some structural changes for health and safety measures."
